# 100

So this is my 100th post! I though that maybe I should do something to celebrate like maybe write an interesting post or something fun like that but due to a lack of interesting ideas I'll simply announce the 100th post and pass along this article picked up by C.I.C.L.E. that I thought was interesting.

Time for New York pedestrians to reclaim city - This article brings me back to my previously mentioned desire for car free downtowns. There is not reason for people to need to drive through downtown business districts and I think every neighborhood should have some sort of car-free "district" even if it is just a couple of blocks.

Now, I'm off the celebrate with pint of beer. Cheers!

I don't know if this is still the case, but during the summer Alexandria made a few blocks of Old Town car-free on Fri. & Sat. nights. It made for a really nice atmosphere - restaurants and bars put tables on the sidewalks and pedestrians took over King St. Utopia!

That sounds like it'd be really nice. I think things like that are really great. 18th St closes for the Adams Morgan festival which is pretty cool too. It would be great if we could get something like that on a regular basis for places like Adams Morgan and U St. and even in Georgetown but the roads have become such bigthoroughfares that it could probably never work.

If it gets to be a trend, we might even do it in Denver -- about 10 years later.
